Sakatomi Post Cards

春先から、ひさしぶりに水性絵具を出したらちょいと面白くなって何枚か小さく描いてみた。で、練習がてらに思いついたのはハガキ大に描いてリクエスト葉書にしてみようという＿それで日曜『サンソン』へ出してみたのが以下15枚。it's not the spotlight は３枚描いたので都合13曲分。ルーサー・イングラムのみ採用されたが、まあ確率としてはそんなモンだろう。

青空

garage band で録ってみたELO曲。コードが同じだけで別曲だが。昔の斉藤和義、「歩いて帰ろう」を意識した。あれはモータウンビードだが。アコギとエレキを重ねて、ドラムは打ち込み。ベースがない、持ってないので無し。歌詞は友人に書いてもらった。

クリスマスソングといって、ざっと思い出すまま並べてみるとUK勢が多くなるのは、USよりも宗教色が強いのだろうか、それとも北に位置して寒い場所だからなんだろうか。
シェイン・マックガァンとトム・ウェイツの濁声が図らずも洋の東西から…。
たんなるポップチューンと落とすには惜しい名曲、ワム。素晴らしいメロディメイク。こちらも名曲、凝ったコード進行の妙＿RCのこの曲は、アコギ時代、12月しか聴けなかった（あたり前か）。

ex- Soul Children のブラックフットの甘茶名曲は、外人大好き「渋谷駅前スクランブル交差点」ジャケット盤から。擬音入り名曲でもあるが間奏ギターがエレシタならば完璧だったが…。対してウォマック、たたみかけファンキーチューンの、あまりのカッコよさヨ＿大音調で。アーロ曲はライのスライド、抜群のオブリ全編で、自作ファーストとまったく同じ音だ。

ボーナスの曲まであるとは嬉しいぞ、ＵＴ。ジェファースンの取り巻きの変態おじさん…とかいってもＬＰの時は二十代だろうな。当然の「唯一盤」なんだが個人的には忘れられない名盤。
クラヴィッツの cool side なヒットは "エレシタ・チューン" 。ヴァネッサ…この人の姓はパラダイスか？ この曲もクラヴィッツが、作／プロデュース。

ドリーム・アカデミィのこの曲は Japan exclusively release 。デン２の札束攻勢に負けた？＿ビール「ハートランド」のＣＭのために書き下ろし。後に歌詞換えてアルバム収録。ドノバン、デビュー時のこのハープの響きはたまらない。次曲、サイケデリアに世界的に受けた時期もまた良し。don & bob 無しのベンチャーズはハーヴィ・マンデルの独り舞台。「クリーク・アレイ」から「フリーク・アレイ」へ…誰も分からない、個人的な思い出。

■大学時代の軽音部、レイラという先輩バンドがこの名でプロになったという噂だったがどうなんだろうか…。■時々に旬のアーティストが過去のレジェンドに絡んで再注目させることがあったが、このオービソンとＵ２のコラボほど見事に昇華された例はない＿あまりにオービソンらしい楽曲とあまりにエッヂらしいギターが絶妙に融和。■ノックス兄弟／ハウディ・ムーン…ともに「この１曲」盤、この２曲をただただ聴き続ける。■日本では分の悪い？ラティーノなヒット、マロ曲。極上の��天国�＜`ューン。

ウッドストック関連で。個人的に…てか、まあ日本ではこうでしょ＿エイモスがメインとなる。まだまだ��星くず�¢Oで「硬い」と言われがちなスペックルド・バード盤…あたしゃ好きですヨ。この盤は芽瑠璃堂だったか。ジェフ＆マリア盤は、上板橋の東武ストアで買ったんだ確か。マジです＿当時スーパーの催事場でレコード販売もあって、輸入盤も卸しの流れ品だろう、かなりあった。成増のミドリヤではブルーサム盤【finnigan & wood】を＿。
"still the one" は絶対にリンダに歌ってもらいたかった曲だがなぁ…。


ジョニ曲「ウッドストック」は、ＣＳＮＹもいいがこれも好きだったねぇ。

トニ・トニ・トニのこの曲は、90年代も後半になってこのようなサザン・マナーというか、グリーン的メンフィス倣いの sophisticated な音が聴けてハッとさせられた／「無い」は日本ロック屈指の名曲、これほどいい曲はちょっと無い／蜜の味、ただの disco fever 範疇にしておくのが惜しい最高の groove 、女性でこれだけのベースを弾きながら歌えるのもすごい／ゼップと同じマネイジメントのＵＫシンガーのベル姐さんだが極上のＮＹセッションで chuck rainey のファンキーベース炸裂、そこに reggie young がばりばりに弾き倒す南部曲という妙味に★四つ／おっと、メイスン曲でもレイニーがぐいぐい押すシンコペート・ベースだった…

ロック史に残る名曲のひとつ、U2のこれ。ボノ…やべえ、これ発表しちゃったらオレらの次はないかも、と思わなかったかなと想像するほどイイ曲。曲もそうだが、エッヂのギターもクレイトン／ミューレンのリズム隊も最高のアレンジ、演奏を。　U2曲とまるで関係なさそうで大ありなのがルーシャス・ジャクソン曲。ビースティ・ボーイズが興した grand royal からデビューしたガールズ・グループ。この曲を含むアルバム {fever in fever out} はU2と同じくダニエル・ラノワのプロデュースだった。Ｕ２を高みに押し上げたラノワ独特の浮遊感音像はルーシャスでも十分に発揮されていた。　スタイリスティックス。バカラック＝デイヴィッド・カヴァーだが、つくづくバカラックの才能を、恐ろしいほどのメロディメイカーぶりを堪能できる。　遠藤賢司。亡き佐久間正英の一番のプロデュースワークはこの盤では。　チェアメンの「パッチズ」＿この曲は同年クラレンス・カーターで大ヒットだったがこちらがオリジナル。作者でありチェアメンのボス、ジェネラル・ジョンソンのあの声のほうが…やはりハマる。

兄キの買ったシングルは聴いていたが自分の小遣いで最初に買ったＢ４はシングル "let it be" 。FAV tune として挙げるならこのシングル・テイク（ジョージのギターは、当方は断然こっちなのだ）が順当なれど、あまりな有名曲はここに入れるまでもないだろう。なのでＢ面。驚いたねぇ…中坊としては「Ｂ面だからってこんなおふざけがアリ？ ２曲分でなけなしの金を出したんだ、半分返せ！」気分に。それが今の耳では実に面白い。
カーリー・サイモンのこの88年ライヴ盤はほんとに好きで。リック・マロッタ／ヒュー・マクラケン／マイケル・ブレッカーらのバック。ベースはプロデューサーでもある、亡きTボーン・ウォルク。演奏も凄いが、地元ともいえるロケーションゆえ雰囲気が素晴らしい。マーサズ・ヴィンヤード島のゲイ・ヘッド。10代前半のＪＴとダニー・クーチが出会った場所でもあり…。そのＪＴとカーリーの間の子どもらの幼い声も聞こえてくる＿Ben & Sally Taylor 。このアルバム、発売時最高位は87位だったが10年かけてミリオン (plutinum album) までなった。


逝って35年目、命日近し。ジョン。京子とジュリアンは元気だろうか…。

アルヴィン・リー／マイロン・ルフェーヴルの曲、ジョージ・ハリソン作だが書き下ろしなんだろうか。本人がスライド／ベース／ハーモニー担当。アコギ12弦がロン・ウッド／ドラムがミック・フリートウッドというＵＫの「顔」が集合。
マッスル録音はめっちゃ多いンだがなんとも苦手なミリー・ジャクソン様。しかしこの Bad Company cover は、ピート・カー始めマッスルリズムセクションのバックトラックが抜群で…。
ナイトメアズは Damned の変名で、デュークスは XTC ね。

いままでＡＢ６曲＿都合12曲と、アナログ規格でチョイスしてきたブログＤＪだが、今回はどうしても「好きなギタリスト選び」となってしまい収まらず…。
ギターソロと言って、際立つのはやはりスティーリーダン・セッション。70年代の…というよりもオールタイムで「セッション・ワークの金字塔」といえる存在、名演数知れず。なかでもグレイドン＿「ペグ」は、エイモス「真夜中のオアシス」と並ぶ＜ギターソロ二大名演＞が過言でないはず。いまに至るも語られるセッション・ギタープレイの代表格。
ＳＤセッションのひとつながら目立たないのは "here at the western world" 。なにしろボツ曲とされて、出てきたのはベスト盤だった。しかし個人的には名曲多いＳＤ楽曲でも屈指であり、ソロも、短いが非常にいい！、パークスの名演。
エリオット・ランドールは、かのジミー・ペイジ師匠も絶賛した「輝く季節」ももちろんなんだが、ここは「らしさ」という意味でこれをチョイス。
感情の赴くまま…がソロの醍醐味だが、なかにはきっちりと譜割された＿ある意味クラシック的構成美のギターパートが光る楽曲も捨てがたい。そんな１曲のチョイスはストーリーズ。弦との追奏ゆえ、よりクラシカルに響く＿かなり好きな楽曲。
もっとも乾いた／パキンパキンなサウンド＝ fender マスターといえば、当方にとってはジム・メシーナで決まり。

特筆すべきは、「苺の目覚まし時計」でギター／「発音はレ-ナード・スキン-ナード」でベースを弾くのが同一人物＿ ed king であること。小坂忠曲でのギターは永井充男さんであること。

*上田知華とカリョービン、なんか恥ずかしいがＬＰ全部持ってたんだよな。化粧品タイアップでそこそこのヒット曲をあえてチョイスは…いい曲が作れるのに、樋口康雄／岡本おさみ／すぎやまこういち／松本隆／竜真知子など「プロ作家」をレコ会社から押しつけられていた中で、この曲は詞・曲とも自作…本人らしさが出た名曲。

ルーベッツ、おバカ曲仕様でも隠しきれない英国インテリジェンスか、ピチカートする弦楽器にＥＬＯにも似たＵＫ魂を感じてしまう。
”国民的”スレイドのクリスマスソングは、Xmas の s は逆字が正式なんだが…。
